David Wayne Adams, son of the late Harlan and Helen (Brown) Adams, was born January 4, 1955, in Rolla, Missouri, and passed away September 22, 2017, at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Missouri. He was 62 years, 8 months, and 18 days of age.
Dave was a graduate of Cabool High School with the class of 1974. He attended a church service as a teenager where he met the love of his life, Barbara Freels. They were married January 24, 1975, in Alton, Missouri. Three children were born to this union.
As a teenager, Dave started working at a meat processing plant. This led to a forty-six year career as a meat cutter. He was working at Country Mart in Mountain Grove at the time of his passing.
Dave was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt. He shot archery competitions for years, winning multiple state championships in Missouri and Arkansas.
Dave was a family man and loved his family very much; but, most importantly, he loved God and had a servant’s heart. He was a member of Norwood Assembly of God Church in Norwood, Missouri, where he has served as deacon for the last eleven years. Dave, also, led the praise and worship service and was Sunday school superintendent.
Dave was preceded in death by an infant son, Jeremy Adams, his father, Harlan Adams, his mother, Helen Loughridge, and his step-father, Richard Loughridge.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Adams, of the home in Mountain Grove, Missouri, his son, Jeff Adams, of Oskaloosa, Iowa, his daughter, Amanda Dale and her husband, Adam, of Mountain Grove, six grandchildren, Alison, Alissa, Haley, Austin, Brady, and Ashton, four brothers, Mark Adams and his wife, Shelly, of Springfield, Missouri, Rick Loughridge and his wife, Rhonda, of Houston, Texas, Brian Loughridge and his wife, Stephanie, of Willow Springs, Missouri, and Tom Adams and his wife, Emma, of Jacksonville, Florida, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Reed and Bonnie Freels, two sisters-in-law, Celah Boykin and Linda Loughridge and her husband, Dale, all of Mountain Grove, two aunts, Shirley Holbrook and Doris Cornell, both of Houston, Missouri, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him very much.
