Darrell Delcour

Darrell Delcour, son of the late Harley and Ida (Crisp) Delcour, was born on February 29, 1936 in St. George, Missouri, and passed away on April 11, 2014 in the Kabul Nursing Home in Cabool, Missouri, at 78 years of age. Darrell was raised in the Jerk Tail Community and began his schooling at Cold Water. He later graduated from Hartville High School in 1955. He was saved and baptized as a young man while attending the New Home Free Will Baptist Church. Darrell was united in marriage to Susie Richardson on August 24, 1957 in Hernando, Mississippi. Three children, Daniel, Karen and Jan, were born to this union. Mrs. Delcour passed away on April 17, 2006. Darrell was employed by Koss Construction Company where he worked in road construction for over thirty years. He was a union member for over fifty years. He enjoyed tinkering with lawn mowers, visiting with his friends on his C.B. radio, spending time with his dogs, gardening, Bluegrass music, and watching his favorite television show, Hee Haw. Darrell was a kind and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him. Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother: Ronald Delcour. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Daniel and Carol Delcour of Norwood, Missouri; his daughters and sons-in-law: Karen and Rick Gordon of Norwood, Missouri, and Jan and Danny Alsup of Mtn. Grove, Missouri; three sisters: Wanda Fletcher and her husband, Ralph, of Manes, Missouri, Judy Griffin and her husband, Lavon, and Janice Charboneau, all of Grovespring, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and other relatives, neighbors and friends.


Visitation: Monday, April 14th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the funeral home. Funeral Service: Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel. Burial: Thomas Cemetery Memorial Contributions: Thomas Cemetery c/o the funeral home.
