Dale Ermal Melton

Dale Ermal Melton, son of the late Charley and Alta (Fogerson) Melton, was born on January 12, 1928 in Tarkio, Missouri and departed this life, to his eternal home, on January 19, 2015 at Rocky Ridge Manor in Mansfield, Missouri. He was 87 years and 7 days of age.

Dale was raised in Wright County, Missouri and graduated from Mountain Grove High School. He then joined the Navy and was honorably discharged as a Fireman Second Class in 1947.

Dale was from an old school life. He never gave up until the very end. He was a hard worker and drove a truck until the age of 80.

He loved farming and did a variety of other jobs to provide for his family.

Besides his parents, Dale was preceded in death by one son: John Melton; two sisters: Alice Massey and Blanche Hopkins; and one grandson: Larry Dale Melton.

Dale is survived by his son: Robert Melton and his wife, Nancy, of Macomb, Missouri; one daughter: Brenda Shores of Mansfield, Missouri; five grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; three nephews; a favored niece: Bonnie Carter and her husband, Bill, of Washington State; and a host of other family and friends.
