Curtis Palmer Tollin, son of the late Elon and Alfreda (Bauman) Tollin, was born March 22, 1929, in Lanesboro, Minnesota. Curt traded this life for a life in heaven on April 27, 2022. He lived a healthy life for 93 years.
Curt married his only love, Darlene Niemann, on August 31, 1947, and they were happily married for 63 years. Darlene left for heaven 11 years ago.
At the beginning of their marriage, he worked as a butcher in Minnesota. Later he moved his family to Colorado and took a job as a meat inspector for the USDA. As a sideline, he was a farrier, a carpenter, and a handyman – basically a jack of all trades. His motto was “There ain’t nothing you can’t do.” He eventually retired and moved to Mountain Grove in 1999. There he remodeled and added onto his home. Curt enjoyed his neighbors and his church family at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. He is loved and will be missed by us all.
Curt is survived by one son, Curtis Jay (Sharon) Tollin of Eldon, Missouri; two daughters, Linnea (Rob) Dollard of Greeley, Colorado, and Kathy Sidler of Mountain Grove, Missouri; one sister, Marliss (Jack) Detmers of Springfield, Missouri; eleven grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was loved by them all.
