Charles Curtis Shaw, son of the late Samuel Wood and Myrtle (Pippin) Shaw, was born March 25, 1933, in Douglas County, Missouri, and passed away February 2, 2023, at his residence in Mountain Grove, Missouri. He was 89 years, 10 months, and 8 days of age.
Curtis was raised by his grandparents, George and Laurie Shaw, after his parents passed away when he was only 14 months old. He went to school in Texas County, Missouri.
On May 31, 1950, Curtis married Jean Middleton. To this union one son, Charles Eugene Shaw, was born on October 26, 1951. Curtis and Jean were married for 60 years at the time of her passing. After Jean’s passing, he married Janice Merritt of Ava, Missouri, on January 27, 2013.
Curtis worked several different jobs, but mainly worked in construction. He also worked on his farm, milking cows and raising beef cattle for thirty years.
Besides his parents, Curtis was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Shaw, one grandson, Kenneth Shaw, two brothers, Loyd Shaw and Calvin Shaw, and one sister, Neva Snavely.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Shaw of Mountain Grove, his son, Charles Shaw and his wife, Paula, of Mountain Grove, two grandchildren, Angela Walker and her husband, Jeff, of Republic, Missouri, and Elizabeth Hagood and her husband, J.P., of Sydney, Ohio, five great-grandchildren, Tabbitha Shaw, Peyton Walker, and Addison Walker, Jaylee Hagood and Jackson Hagood, two great-great-grandchildren, Rylee and Journey, two step-sons, Bob Merritt and his wife, Lena, of Seymour, Missouri, and Everett Merritt and his wife, Dawn, of Willow Springs, Missouri, one step-daughter, Angela Bingham of Ava, Missouri, and other relatives and friends who will miss him very much.
