Phillis Cozette Crisp, daughter of the late Duey and Mary (Neal) McGowan, was born December 7, 1935 at Cabool, Missouri, and passed from this life on December 25, 2022 in Theodosia, Missouri, at 87 years of age.
Phillis grew up in the Cabool area and married Angus Crisp on May 19, 1953 in Manes, Missouri. Five children were born to this union. They made their home in the Manes Community for many years. They later moved to Pocahontas, Arkansas where they both worked for Brown Shoe Company. Following their retirement, they moved back to Missouri settling in Theodosia. Cozette worked at Cookie’s Café into her eighties.
Cozette was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She loved her family and enjoyed the camping trips, fishing, and generally spending time with them. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her. She enjoyed sewing and working jigsaw puzzles.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Angus Crisp; by one son, Edwin Crisp; by a brother, Jerry McGowan; and by one sister, Connie Crisp.
She is survived by three sons, Steve Crisp of Pocahontas, Arkansas, Kenny Crisp of Delaware, Arkansas, Rick Crisp of the State of Oklahoma; two daughters, Alethea Yeager of Theodosia, Missouri, and Patricia Crisp of Wyandotte, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grand-children; one great-great-grandchild; many other relatives and friends.
