Cora 'Lucille' Hardin

Cora Lucille Hardin, daughter of the late Edd and Blanche (Hart) Cox, was born on March 12, 1928 in Wayne County, Iowa, and departed this life on November 5, 2014 at Autumn Oaks Caring Center. She was 86 years, 7 months, and 24 days of age.

Lucille was raised in Wayne County, Iowa and graduated from Corydon, Iowa High School in 1946. She was united in marriage to John Hardin on August 16, 1950 in Indianola, Iowa. Four children were born to this union: Marilee, Barbara, Richard, and Eric.

Lucille was saved and baptized at an early age and was very active in church. She was a Sunday school teacher, participated in bible school, and wherever she was needed she was there.

She loved to embroider, cook, and do jigsaw and crossword puzzles. Lucille enjoyed her dogs and cats, and she loved her house plants. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Besides her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by one brother: Virgil Cox; five sisters: Wilma Hook, Beulah Huntley, Lorena Rosenbaugh, Margaret Hawkins, and Lois Mae Loney; and one grandson: John Vincent Hardin.

Lucille is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, John Hardin of Mountain Grove, Missouri; two sons: Richard Hardin and his wife, Marsha, of Pace, Florida, and Eric Hardin and his wife, Mary, of Mountain Grove, Missouri; two daughters: Marilee Walker and her husband, Dan, of Edwards, Missouri, and Barbara Gault and her husband, Chester, of Mountain Grove, Missouri; one sister: Leanna Greer and her husband, Donal, of Cincinnati, Iowa; eleven grandchildren; Candace, Benjamin, Misty, Christy, Charity, Megan, Curtis, Jennifer Ann, Keith, Cliff, and Jennifer Kay; twenty great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends who will miss her greatly.


Visitation: Sunday, November 9, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: Monday, November 10, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Almost Home Ministries.

Burial: Lonestar Cemetery, Mountain Grove, Missouri
