Connie Grisham

Connie Joan Grisham, daughter of the late James Henry and Gladys (Freeman) Jones, was born April 25, 1939, in Flippin, Arkansas, and passed away June 7, 2019, at her home in Mountain Grove, Missouri. She was 80 years, 1 months, and 13 days of age.

Connie’s family moved to Iowa when she was young. She married Bill Grisham on March 8, 1963, in Buffalo, Iowa.

An early childhood love of Home Economics set the tone for her life as a wonderful homemaker. She loved family get-togethers and loved to cook for her family. She kept a neat home, believing everything had a place and that there was a place for everything. Connie was independent and truthful to the core and will be remembered for the great strength she demonstrated throughout her life.

Connie enjoyed life and the memories she made with family. She greatly enjoyed her grandkids and loved going to their sporting events. She loved playing games with her family, especially Win, Lose, or Draw. She also enjoyed dancing and taught everyone the Foxtrot, Waltz, and Twist. Connie had fun with her sisters while living in Davenport, Iowa, and greatly enjoyed the times they would spend swimming at the YMCA. In her spare time, she loved reading good books.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Vicky Sheppard, two brothers, Raymond Kunze and Ronnie Jones, and three sisters, Beulah Hitchcock, Jackie Kinkaid, and Pauline Kunze.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Grisham, of their home, one son, Vincent Grisham and his wife, Ann, of Muscatine, Iowa, two daughters, Rebecca Thompson of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and Sue Gunter and her husband, Randy, of Buffalo, Missouri, two sisters, Bonnie Sawvell and Donnie Guldenpfennig, both of Buffalo, Iowa, nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and many other relatives and friends who will dearly miss her.
