Claudia Maxine Berry, daughter of the late Claud and Ruby (Skaggs) Baker, was born on December 20, 1943, in Huggins, Missouri, and departed this life on October 28, 2017, in the Autumn Oaks Caring Center, Mountain Grove, Missouri. She was 73 years, 10 months, and 8 days of age.
Maxine grew up in the Huggins community and attended the Peace Valley School. She was united in marriage to Wilbur Earl Hutsell on August 17, 1960. Five children were born to this union. They raised their family in Mokane, Missouri. Maxine worked at the nursing home in Mokane for several years before they relocated back to the Huggins community in the mid ‘70’s. Mr. Hutsell passed away on September 7, 1978. Maxine was united in marriage to Oscar Eugene Berry on August 7, 1987. Mr. Berry passed away on April 13, 2000.
Maxine was a great cook and enjoyed having family and friends for Sunday dinners. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Maxine also enjoyed embroidery, quilting, and playing bingo.
Maxine had accepted the Lord as her Savior and had been baptized. She faithfully attended church services and especially liked attending revivals and gospel singings. She was a kind soul who never spoke negatively about others. She displayed love and kindness to all that knew her. She will be dearly missed.
Besides her parents and husbands, Maxine was preceded in death by one son, Earl Hutsell, one daughter, Carolyn Hutsell, two brothers, Raymond and Delbert Baker, and one sister, Mary Crewse.
Maxine is survived by two sons, Donald Hutsell and wife, Lora, of Vanzant, Missouri, and Junior Hutsell and wife, Cindy, of Mountain Grove, one daughter, Angela Bishop of Mountain Grove, three brothers, Dearl Baker and wife, Barbara, of Mountain Grove, Ralph Baker and wife, Diane, of Manes, Missouri, and Ronnie Baker and wife, Teresa, of Houston, Missouri, three sisters, Linda Pearce of Cabool, Missouri, Wanda Meyers and husband, Bob, of Grovespring, Missouri, and Phyllis Coffman and husband, Johnny, of Vanzant, Missouri, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, numerous nephews and nieces, and a host of other relatives and friends.
