Clarence Leon Baney, son of the late Claude and Eunice (Goddard) Baney, was born on June 28, 1940 in Texas County, Missouri and departed this life suddenly on June 5, 2008 at his residence north of Mtn. Grove, Missouri at 67 years of age.
Clarence grew up in Wright and Texas Counties and graduated from Cabool High School in 1958. He was united in marriage to Mary Mayfield on March 5, 1960 in Wright County. Two sons were born to this union.
Clarence was employed by Ford Motor Company in St. Louis, Missouri for thirty years and retired in 1994. Following his retirement, they moved back to the Mtn. Grove area and purchased their farm north of town.
Clarence enjoyed farm life and especially liked tending to his horses and going on trail rides. His best friend and pal was his faithful dog, “Rebel.”
He was saved and baptized in the early 1970’s.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother: Gaylord Baney; one sister: Claudene Brown; and by a half-brother: Dale Freeman.
He is survived by his loving wife of forty-eight years: Mary Baney of their home; two sons: Marvin Lance Baney of Jonesburg, Missouri, and Michael Leon Baney of Pendleton, Missouri; two brothers: Glenn Baney of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Carl Baney of Wentzville, Missouri; two sisters: Ruth Coble of Mtn. Grove, and Beulah Orf of O’Fallon, Missouri; several nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him very much.

Monday, June 9, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel, Mtn. Grove, Missouri.
Visitation:
No Formal - Viewing will be from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Sunday in the funeral home.
