Christina Maria Thompson, daughter of the late Silbestre Maldonado and Josie Elnora Mae (Wycoff) Villarreal, was born March 31, 1958, in Toledo, Ohio, and departed this life October 23, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, at 66 years of age.
Christina grew up and attended school in Toledo, Ohio. She graduated from Woodward High School with the class of 1976. She learned to play the violin in school and enjoyed playing early in life. After high school, Christina joined the United States Air Force. She retired in 1998 after 20 years of service. She married Ricky Thompson on August 4, 1984, at Patrick Air Force Base in Florida after she returned from a tour in Europe. They honeymooned at Disney World and it has become their second home throughout their marriage. After her retirement from the Air Force, she worked in Civil Service at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, and retired after 17 years.
Christina loved family activities, and she always looked forward to planning the next family trip or get together. Her favorite family activity was vacationing at Disney. She and her family have taken countless trips to Disney World and many Disney Cruises. She always extended invitations to all of her family, and most of them have been able to participate throughout the years. They truly enjoyed the magic and imagination that Disney brought to their lives.
Christina was an avid history buff, especially American history. She liked digging deep and learning true history, not only current versions of history. She also enjoyed British history and has studied the British Monarchy back to it’s beginning.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Silbestre and Josie Villarreal, and by one brother, David Wycoff.
Christina is survived by her husband, Ricky Thompson, three daughters, Jessica Thompson, Charlotte Willhite, and Sara Oberg and her husband, Clayton, two sons, Lewis Thompson and Eric Thompson and his wife, Suret, three grandchildren, Dakota, Kazia, and Clarissa, one great-grandchild, Melody, one sister, Pamela (Villarreal) French and her husband, Thomas, three brothers, Silvestre Villarreal, Robert Villarreal, and Cecil Villarreal, and many other extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.
Memorial contributions may be made to Military Women's Memorial in care of the funeral home.
