Chester Angus Crisp

November 12, 1925 — November 11, 2008

Chester “Angus” Crisp, son of the late Harry and Elizabeth (Rogers) Crisp, was born on November 12, 1925 near Manes, Missouri and passed from this life on November 11, 2008 at his residence in Theodosia, Missouri, just one day short of being 83 years of age.
Angus was united in marriage to Cozette McGowan on May 19, 1953 in Manes, Missouri. Five children were born to this union. They made their home in the Manes Community for many years where Angus worked various jobs. He was a school bus driver for Manes and Mtn. Grove Schools and he also worked in construction at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. In 1983, He and Cozette moved to Pocahontas, Arkansas where they both worked for the Brown Shoe Company. Following their retirement, they moved back to Missouri settling in Theodosia.
Angus was known as a friendly person and was always willing to help those around him.
He was a wonderful and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. His children were his pride and joy. He enjoyed teaching them how to swim, camp, fish, and hunt. He will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife: Veda (Eaton) Crisp in 1948; one son: Edwin Lee Crisp in 2006; and by two brothers: Cecil Crisp and Griffin Crisp.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-five years: Cozette Crisp of their home; three sons: Rickie Crisp of Lexington, Oklahoma, Kenny Crisp of New Blaine, Arkansas, and Steve Crisp of Theodosia, Missouri; two daughters: Patricia Crisp of Wyandotte, Oklahoma and Alethea Yeager of Hartville, Missouri; one brother: Wayne Crisp of Manes, Missouri; one sister: Dorothy Gaddis of Manes, Missouri; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.


Graveside Services:
Friday, November 14, 10:00 AM in the Evening Shade Cemetery.
Visitation:
Thursday, November 13, 6:30 -8:00 PM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel.
