Charlotte Jerilee Stauffer

Charlotte Jerilee Stauffer, daughter of the late William Edward and Beverly Virginia (Maitland) Fowler, was born on May 10, 1942 in Trenton, Tennessee and departed this life suddenly on April 11, 2008 at her residence near Mtn. Grove, Missouri. She was 65 years, 11 months, and 1 day of age.
Charlotte moved with her family to the St. Louis, Missouri area at the age of seven where she grew up and attended school. She was united in marriage to Robert Stauffer on October 23, 1987 in Springfield, Missouri. Together they raised ten children.
She was employed by Bruce Burgess Printing Company for over ten years and worked for McDonald’s restaurants, most recently in Mtn. Grove where she retired after fourteen years. She and Bob moved to the Mtn. Grove area in 1982 where they had made their home for over twenty-five years.
Charlotte liked playing bingo, reading a good book, working crossword puzzles and crocheting. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal’s fan and enjoyed watching them play whenever possible.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister: Beverly Potter; and by a granddaughter: Mackenna Stauffer.
She is survived by her husband: Robert “Bob” Stauffer of their home; three sons: Robert Stauffer of St. Louis, Missouri, Steven Stockwell of Urbana, Illinois, and Billy Stauffer of Marshfield, Missouri; seven daughters: Karen Brandemeyer of St. Louis, Missouri, Chris Curtiss of St. Charles, Missouri, Vanessa Gamez of Fair Grove, Missouri, Marilyn Krieger of Pevely, Missouri, Denise Petty and Mary Barnes, both of St. Charles, Missouri, and Roberta Thompson of Gloucester, Virginia; twenty-seven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial services for Charlotte Stauffer will be held Wednesday, April 16, 12:00 PM in the Apostolic Tabernacle near Mtn. Grove, Missouri. Burial will be at a later date. Arrangements were under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mtn. Grove, Missouri.
