Charles Rayford Tanner was born to Joseph and Elva (Lewis) Tanner, on August 4, 1956 at Santa Cruz, California. He passed away on November 22, 2012 at 12:08 AM in Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, at 56 years of age.
He was preceded in death by his father: Joseph; his mother: Elva; a sister: Florence; and by a brother: Joe.
The family moved to Phoenix, Arizona, when Charles was six months of age, where the family worked hard to make a living.
Charles learned to respect life and those around him, which he carried all though his life.
Flowers were his love, but tools and mechanics were his passion.
To my family:
I love you all. To my nieces and nephews: you were all very special to me and I loved you dearly. I thank God for my sister, Middie, who was my best friend. She held my hand in life and was there for me through times of happiness or grief.
My brother Gene was dear to me. Although we were separated by miles, he was close to me and I carried him in my heart.
Please understand I did not want to leave you all in tears. But it was my time to leave this earth. I know you cared for me because you stood by me. But it was time for me to leave this mortal life. God called me to enter the gates of Heaven.
I’m looking forward to seeing you all later.
Love, Charles
