Charles Louis Grasher passed away peacefully in his home with his wife Elaine by his side. He was 98 years, 2 months, and 5 days of age.
Louis was born in Macomb, Missouri, to the late Charles Otto and Golda (Moody) Grasher on August 6, 1925. He lived in Macomb until he was inducted into the United States Navy on November 19, 1943. After his tour during World War II, he was honorably discharged on January 5, 1946. He moved to Kansas City, Missouri, and drove a truck for Cooks Paint and Varnish Company, retiring after 30 years. He couldn’t stay still though. He continued working various places until he was 92 years old.
Louis took great pride in his yard work and kept a pristine yard. He also enjoyed putting out large cucumber patches every year. Louis loved going fishing every chance he could. He also liked going deer hunting.
Louis loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He greatly enjoyed having a fish fry and a good barbeque with his friends and family.
Besides his parents, Louis was preceded in death by one son, Charles Louis Grasher, Jr., one daughter, Connie Jean Grasher, one grandson, Robert Wayne Pharris, one granddaughter, Debra Ann Tripp, one step-son, Jason Cornelison, one step-daughter, Jeanie Beeler, two brothers, Herb Grasher, and Donald Grasher, and one sister, Wanda McAlister.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine Grasher of Macomb, one daughter, Judy Pharris and husband, Alvin, of Henryetta, Oklahoma, one step-son, Buddy Cornelison and wife, Sarah, of Crane, Missouri, two step-daughters, JoAnn Miller and husband, Bill, and Valerie Blankenship and husband, Craig, all of Norwood, Missouri, one sister, Virginia Reddig of Dallas, Texas, 27 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him very much.
