Chad Christopher Burke, son of Keith Burke and Colleen (Davault) Burke-Gilley, was born on March 5, 1979 in Mansfield, Missouri, and departed this life on October 30, 2011 at his residence in Springfield, Missouri, following a short illness. He was 32 years, 7 months and 25 days of age.
Chad grew up in Mtn. Grove, Missouri, St. Louis, Missouri, Tennessee, Korea and Georgia. He served his country in the United States Navy as an Electronic Equipment Repairman and was honorably discharged on July 30, 1998.
Chad was employed in retail sales before working with the elderly and disabled for the past few years. He touched many lives with his infectious smile, kind words, and hugs.
He would hug anyone who looked like they needed one. He cared more for those around him than he did for himself. He was always putting others first.
He was a loving and caring son, brother, grandson, step-brother and friend. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother: Maxine Burke; and by an uncle: Larry Davault.
Chad is survived by his father: Keith Burke of Springfield, Missouri; his mother and step-father: Norman and Colleen Gilley of Mtn. Grove; one brother: Joshua Burke of Springfield, Missouri; a step-brother: Troy Gilley of Willow Springs, Missouri; a devoted and loving partner: Justin Vollmer of Springfield, Missouri; his paternal grandfather: Kenneth Burke of Springfield, Missouri; his maternal grandmother: Edith Norene Pitcher of Mtn. Grove; several aunts: uncles; cousins; and many friends.
