Cathy Faye Parsons

Cathy Faye Parsons, daughter of the late Oscar Eugene Berry and Jewell (Shelton) Reece, was born September 20, 1953, in Ava, Missouri, and departed this life June 20, 2018, at Texas County Memorial Hospital. She was 64 years and 9 months of age.

Cathy married Walter Parsons on May 4, 1971 in Mountain Grove, Missouri. Six children were born to this union.

Cathy worked as a nurse at the hospital in Mansfield, Missouri, for several years and as an aide at Autumn Oaks in Mountain Grove. She always liked watching her children playing sports when they were growing up. She loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren having barbeques. Cathy enjoyed being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Cathy had a big heart and never knew a stranger. She was always helping others whether it was with finances or other material things; she was always giving.

Besides her parents, Cathy was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, in 2002, four brothers, Darrel Berry, Rick Berry, Ronald Reece, and Jack Shelton, and by one granddaughter, Heather Hightower.

She is survived by two sons, Ronnie Hightower and his wife, LaDonna, of Hartville, Missouri, and Samuel Parsons and his wife, Amy, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, four daughters, Donna Shelton of Mountain Grove, Missouri, Sue Delcour and her husband, Dwayne, of Mansfield, Missouri, Pamela Britt and her husband, Darrin, and Wanda Parsons all of Mountain Grove, Missouri, two brothers, Bobby Roberts of Springfield, Missouri, and Danny Bragg of Michigan, two sisters, Shirley Bell of Dora, Missouri, and Retha Berry of Mountain Grove, Missouri, 21 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
