Catalina (Granados) Anderson

December 28, 1959 — September 1, 2021

Catalina (Granados) Anderson, daughter of Jesus Granados, Sr. and Ernestina Castillo Granados was born December 28, 1959, in Fabens, Texas, and departed this life on September 1, 2021, at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri at the age of sixty-one years, eight months, and three days.

On September 20, 1978, she was united in marriage to Barry Alan Anderson and to this union three children were born.

She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers, Johnny Castillo, Martin Granados, Beto Granados, Arturo Granados, and Samuel Granados.

Catalina is survived by her husband, Barry; two daughters, Amanda Anderson and Melissa Anderson both of Seymour, Missouri; son, Jacob Anderson and wife, Dakota, of Marshfield, Missouri; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild on the way; two brothers, Jesus Granados, Jr. and Antonio Granados both of El Paso, Texas; five sisters, Monchie Olmos and Neely Granados both of Fabens, Texas; Teresa Herrera, Maria Pulido and Petra Guillen all of El Paso, Texas; mother-in-law, Linda Griffis of Seymour, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Katrina Merriett and Kassandra Bozarth; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She made a profession of faith in Christ many years ago and was a member of the Seymour Life Church.

Catalina was born in Fabens, Texas, and was raised in El Paso, Texas. She attended Ysleta High School and graduated in the Class of ’77. The family moved to Seymour, Missouri in 1992, where she lived and raised her family. She retired from Missouri Department of Corrections/Ozark Correctional Center in 2017.

In her spare time she enjoyed yard sales, thrift stores, spending time with her family and grandchildren, and movie nights with her husband. She was a graceful and faithful woman who was loved by many, and she gave that love back tenfold.

We hope that one day we can see the world as she did, love as she did, and find peace in things as she did. Catalina touched a lot of lives. She loved her family and friends fiercely, and they are forever grateful to have had a love like hers. She hung the moon and stars in her family’s eyes. We hope that everyone can find peace in knowing that she is in a better place and will one day see her again.
