Carrie grew up and attended school in Wright County and was united in marriage to Rass William Coffman on November 25, 1930. Mr. Coffman passed away on December 12, 1991.
They raised their family of twelve children on a farm in the Morning Sun area. All twelve children attended the Morning Sun School until the eighth grade, before its closing. All the children went on to graduate from Mtn. Grove High School.
Carrie had lived on the family farm for eighty-one years. She retired from Brown Shoe Company in Mtn. Grove, Missouri in 1977.
She enjoyed going to the Senior Citizen Center where she played cards, dominos, pool, and bingo with her many friends. She liked to fish and dance. She also enjoyed attending her children's and grandchildren’s ballgames for many years. She was known as an avid St. Louis Cardinals Baseball fan.
Carrie was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend. Throughout her life, she always put her children and grandchildren before herself.
She was saved and baptized at an early age. As long as her health permitted, she attended the Friendship Church at Dawson.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by five sons: Gean Coffman, Faris Coffman, Francis Coffman, Darold Coffman and Harold Coffman; one daughter: Ruby Coffman; one brother: John A. Long; one sister: Elizabeth Broyles; and by four grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons: Dean Coffman and his wife, Sandy, of Mtn. Grove, Missouri, and Larry “Buck” Coffman, and his wife, Sharon, of Hartville, Missouri; five daughters: Mable Tetrick of Mtn. Grove, Dottie Perryman of Raymondville, Missouri, Donna Carlson and her husband, Sam, of Mtn. Grove, Patsy Hamilton of Mtn. Grove, and Darlene Bradshaw and her husband, Glen, of Norwood, Missouri; twenty-three grandchildren; fifty-three great-grandchildren; twelve great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
