Carolyn Gail Jackson, daughter of the late John Weston and Corinne Victorea (Campau) McLaughlin, was born on May 22, 1934 in Central Lake, Michigan, and departed this life on June 7, 2016 at Cox Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri at 82 years of age.
Carolyn grew up living in several different locations but graduated from high school in Detroit, Michigan. She became an LPN and worked as a nurse for many years. She married Thomas Jackson on July 28, 1956 in Detroit, Michigan. Three sons were born to this union: Thomas, Jeffery, and Robert.
Carolyn later worked as a tour guide for Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Michigan, and at the Laura Ingalls Wilder home in Mansfield, Missouri. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting, cooking, and researching genealogy. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend and will be greatly missed.
Besides her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by one brother: Lewis McLaughlin, three sisters: Barbara Aenis, Jean Rentchler, and Helen Young.
She is survived by her loving husband: Thomas Jackson of Norwood, Missouri; three sons: Thomas Jackson and his wife, Cathy, of Aurora, Missouri, Jeffery Jackson and his wife, Holly, and Robert Jackson and his wife, Frances, all of Springfield, Missouri; three grandchildren: Aaron Barnhart and his wife, Shawn, Sarah Wickins and her husband, Brian, and Benjamin Jackson; five great-grandchildren: Cy, Able, Eli, and Anna Wickins, and Joshua Hansen; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation: Saturday, June 11 from 9:00 - 10:00 AM in the Chapel.
Funeral Service: Saturday, June 11 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel.
Burial: Jackson Family Cemetery, Norwood, Missouri.
Memorial Contributions: May be made to the American Heart Association c/o the funeral home.
