Caroline Louise Mumby

Caroline Louise Mumby, daughter of the late Homer Francis and Bernadette Marie (Stimart) Mudge, was born May 2, 1941 in Rochester, Minnesota, and departed this life May 5, 2017 at her home in Mountain Grove, Missouri. She was years 76 and 3 days of age.

Caroline grew up and attended school in Minnesota. She was united in marriage to Delmer Mumby on April 22, 1961 in Fairbury, Nebraska. Three children were born to this union. In 2002, Caroline and Delmer moved to Mountain Grove to be close to their grandsons. Caroline was quickly volunteered to help in the library at Mansfield elementary. She did this for many years. She even had her own parking spot.

After her time there she stayed busy crocheting blankets, hats, and Afghans for Angels and loved seeing her friends at Silver Sneakers. For as long as she was able Caroline enjoyed making yearly trips to Wyoming for her Doe’s convention. She was Grandma to many and will be missed.

Caroline is survived by her husband, Delmer Mumby, of the home, one son, David Lee Mumby of Omaha, Nebraksa, two daughters, Debra Louise Sheard of Omaha, Nebraska, and Diane Lynn Johns of Macomb, Missouri, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two brothers, Robert Mudge of Sparks, Arizona, and Theodore Mudge of Oceanside, California, three sisters, Janet Denny of Rochester, Minnesota, Mary Buerstetta of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Catherine Maddox of Lincoln, Nebraska, and a host of other relatives and friends who will greatly miss her.
