Carlene Lavelle (Todd) Fry, daughter of the late Ernie and Anna (Duke) Todd, was born June 16, 1933, in Rayborn, Missouri and departed this life December 8, 2018, at Autumn Oaks Caring Center in Mountain Grove, Missouri. She was 85 years, 5 months, and 22 days of age.
Carlene was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, and mother. She married Wallace Beverly Fry on September 19, 1952. One son and one daughter were born to this union.
Carlene was raised in the Green Mountain area. She took piano lessons and played the piano at Green Mountain Baptist Church at a very young age. Her grandfather was the song leader. He would tap his foot with the timing for her while she played.
She graduated from Mountain Grove High School with the class of 1950. She did bookkeeping and accounting work at Brown Shoe Company in Mountain Grove for many years. Later, she worked in the treasurer’s office at the Wright County Courthouse in Hartville, Missouri.
Carlene had made a profession of faith in Christ at an early age and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She loved playing the piano and organ. She also loved singing and did this for most of her life, as long as her health permitted.
She enjoyed growing flowers, making garden, and sewing. She was a very caring and good friend to all who knew her.
Carlene was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Beverly Fry, her son, Rick Fry, two brothers, Clarel Todd and Don Todd, and one sister, Berniece Bogart.
She is survived by one daughter, Vicki Fry, and one brother, Tommy Todd and his wife, Wilda, all of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and other relatives and friends who will dearly miss her.
