Carl Wallace Turner, son of the late Arch and Jewel Welch Turner, was born on March 5, 1928, in Wright County, Missouri. He departed this life peacefully on February 22, 2019, in his home north of Mountain Grove. He was 90 years, 11 months and 17 days of age.
Carl married Vivian Eloise Owens on October 14, 1950. This union of nearly 65 years was blessed with six children. In June of 1955 they moved to a farm east of Hartville where they worked side by side milking cows, running a milk route, and raising their kids. He was a member of the Church of Christ where he attended the Mountain Grove congregation.
In his spare time, Carl enjoyed trail rides with friends and once won the award for being the oldest rider. His latest hobby was buying, refurbishing and trading tractors and farm equipment. Later, his youngest brother, Herman, joined him and they continued right up to Carl's last day. Throughout his life he enjoyed hunting and fishing and often took his kids and grandchildren. He loved working hard and providing for his family. Family was the most important thing to him and he loved all of the special occasions when everyone could be together. He and his brothers were especially close the past few years and spent many enjoyable hours fishing and playing pitch.
Carl was preceded in death by his loving wife, Vivian, his parents Arch and Jewel Turner, two brothers Darrell and Harold Turner and two sisters-in-law, Delores and Mildred Turner.
He leaves behind six children: Evelyn Mayab of Springfield, Larry Turner and wife Carolyn of Hartville, Wanda Davis and husband Dave of Mtn. Grove, Janet Turner of Mtn. Grove, Wallace Turner and wife Linda of Carthage, and David Turner and wife Stephanie of Monett; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter; three brothers: Ronnie Turner and wife Wilma, Shirley Turner and Herman Turner all of Mtn. Grove; a sister-in-law Louise Thornhill of Mtn. Grove; and numerous other dear family members and friends, including his beloved church family.
