James Dale “Butch” Willis, son of Dale and Goldie Willis, was born January 21, 1953, in Norfolk, Virginia and departed this life on November 24, 2022, at his home in Macomb, Missouri at the age of 69 years, 10 months, and 3 days.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Dan, and Jackie Willis.
Butch is survived by his wife of 21 years, Gertie; 3 daughters, Misty Donahoe and husband, Josh, of Mansfield, Sonya Reed and significant other, Justin Cantrell, of Graff, and Jennifer Richards and husband, Cody, of Plainview; 8 grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
He was born in Virginia and served his country in the United States Army. He lived in this area for 50+ years where he worked at Hutchens Industries for 25 years.
In 1987, Butch received a commendation from the Governor of Missouri, John Ashcroft, for his heroism when he rushed to a burning wrecked car to rescue several people.
In his spare time, he enjoyed playing the guitar and fishing.
Butch was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and an all- around nice guy. He will be missed deeply by his family and friends.
