Butch Mae Dailey was born on May 4, 1931 in Okemah, Oklahoma to Daniel and Ethel Cochran and passed away at her home in Mountain Grove, Missouri on January 27, 2012. She passed away after a brief battle with melanoma cancer. Butch was 80 years old.
Butch grew up in Okemah, Oklahoma and moved to Lynwood, California in 1941. A few years later, she moved with her family to Farmersville, California where she saw John C. Dailey walking down her street. It was love at first sight. John and Butch were married on November 26, 1947 and together they had three beautiful daughters Judy, Anita, and Karen.
Butch worked in a cannery, as a waitress, and picking cotton but to Butch family was everything. John and Butch moved to Missouri, along with their family in May of 1990. She was always very family oriented and very active with her family. She loved to have family gatherings, getting her hair done, and she was an avid bowler. Butch loved to laugh and was not afraid to speak her mind. She was full of laughter and love, especially when she was with her children and grandchildren. She will always live on in the lessons she taught, the warmth she gave in our hearts, and the smiles that always kept us going in the times when we needed them the most.
Butch was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Ethel Cochran and by two brothers, Roy and Raymond Cochran.
Butch is survived by her husband of sixty-four years, John Dailey, Mountain Grove, Missouri, her daughters, Judy and Don Dodson, Crown Point, Indiana; Anita Waara and fiancé, Mike Warner, Mountain Grove, Missouri; and Karen and Dave Kayser, Fordland, Missouri. Her grandchildren, Shannon Russo, Springfield, Missouri; Tracy and James Dodd, Cabool, Missouri; Jennifer Dailey, Cape Girardeau, Missouri; Jessica and Aaron Fry, Mountain Grove, Missouri; and Haylee Waara, Mountain Grove, Misssouri.
