Bridgette Gay McGowen, daughter of Bob McGowen and the late Barbara (Sutton) McGowen, was born July 6, 1959, in Lebanon, Missouri, and departed this life September 28, 2018, at Marshfield Care Center in Marshfield, Missouri. She was 59 years, 2 months, and 22 days of age.
Bridgette grew up in Mountain Grove, Missouri, and graduated from Mountain Grove High School in 1977. Bridgette lived in Branson, Missouri, for a short time and always loved returning to Branson to visit and see the sights. While living in Branson, Bridgette worked in various places including Silver Dollar City. After moving back to Mountain Grove, Bridgette’s dad built her a craft shop where she enjoyed making and selling Victorian style crafts. She also loved collecting antique sewing machines.
In 1976, her father bought her a brand new, from the factory, black Trans Am, which she still owned at the time of her passing. She greatly enjoyed riding in the car and taking care of it. Bridgette also loved cats and during her lifetime, had raised several generations of cats. She took in strays and loved them as well. But her greatest joy was her family and she treasured time spent with her daughters and grandchildren.
Bridgette was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara McGowen, and by her grandparents.
She is survived by her father, Bob McGowen, her two daughters, Shawsha Newcomb and her husband, Jason, and their two children, Finn Scott and Jacelynn Newcomb, of Neosho, Missouri, and Fawn Wade of Willow Springs, Missouri, her brother, Brady McGowen, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and 5 nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
