Brian LeRoy Mitchell, son of the late Johnnie Russell and Dorothy Pauline (Tilman) Mitchell, was born on September 14, 1963, in Mountain Grove, Missouri, and passed away on June 18, 2023, in Houston, Missouri. He was 59 years, 9 months, and 4 days of age.
Brian grew up in Mountain Grove and graduated with the Mountain Grove High School class of 1981. He was united in marriage to Donna (Spivey) Mitchell on September 29, 1984. Two sons were born to this union, John "JC" and Eric. Brian was later married to Debbie (Hoon) Mitchell on July 23, 2012, and he gained five step-children, David, Cole, Dwight, Wyatt, and Joyce.
Brian's career in inventory control spanned more than three decades, retiring from Hutchens Industries in Mansfield, Missouri. While his occupation was a testament to his incredible work ethic and attention to detail, his true passion was found in his hobbies and involvement in developing young boys into great men through scouting. Brian enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bowling, but his most cherished pastime was scouting. For many years, he led local Cub Scout and Boy Scout packs, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of countless young lives. Brian's life was one of unwavering dedication to his family and friends. The impact he had on those around him will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Dorothy Mitchell; his brother, Rickey Mitchell; and his nephews, Timmy, Jeremy, Shane, and Joshua Turner.
Brian is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Mitchell; his sons, John Mitchell and wife, LeAnn, and Eric Mitchell and wife, Amber, of Mountain Grove; his step-children, David Wise of Florida, Cole Lancaster, Dwight Lancaster and wife, Mandy, Wyatt Lancaster, and Joyce Lancaster, all of Mountain Grove; his sisters, Carolyn Graham and husband, Billy, of Lyons, Kansas, and Kathryn Turner and husband, Jerry, of Mountain Grove; twenty-five grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Brian's memory will live on through the lives he touched, the lessons he taught, and the love he shared with those closest to him.
