Bradley Winfred Marler, son of Francis and Janet (Wiley) Marler, was born on March 8, 1972 in Grundy Center, Iowa, and passed away on January 6, 2007 in the St. John’s Regional Health Center in Springfield, Missouri, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Mtn. Grove, Missouri. He was 34 years, 9 months, and 28 days of age.
Brad moved with his parents from Iowa to Mtn. Grove in 1976 at the age of four. He attended the Mtn. Grove schools and during high school he enjoyed playing basketball, running track and hurdles. He graduated from Mtn. Grove High School in 1991.
Brad was united in marriage to Kelly Robinson on April 10, 1992 in Mtn. Grove. They made their home in Mtn. Grove for many years.
He enjoyed being outdoors, especially when fishing. Over the years, he had entered several fishing tournaments. He was a member of the Pro AM Bass Club. He also enjoyed coaching Little League and Tri-County Baseball while his children were playing. Brad was a people person who never met a stranger and enjoyed visiting with his many friends and neighbors.
He was a loving son, husband, father, grandson and friend. He will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him.
He was a member of the First Christian Church in Mtn. Grove, Missouri and was baptized on May 24, 1998. Brad was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather: Winfred Marler; and by his maternal grandfather, Kenneth Wiley.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost fifteen years, Kelly Marler of their home; two sons: Cory and Tyler Marler; one daughter: Megan Marler; his father and mother: Francis and Janet Marler, all of Mtn. Grove; his father and mother-in-law: Charles and Carolyn Robinson of Mansfield, Missouri; his paternal grandmother: Irene Marler of West Plains, Missouri; his maternal grandmother: Wilma Wiley of Hollister, Missouri; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Brad Marler were held Thursday, January 11, 10:00 AM in the First Christian Church with Jack Holland officiating. David Barbe sang “Amazing Grace,” and “Antioch Church House Choir.” Pallbearers were Dallas Tool, Mark Hyde, Tom Falls, Mark Willis, Bob Skyles, Marty Via and Joe Auffert. Burial was in the Lone Star Cemetery under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mtn. Grove, MO.
