Bonnie J. Sanders, of Brandon, Florida, daughter of the late Clarence A. and Anna Laura (Steinert) Raney of Norwood, Missouri, was born on June 28, 1929 in Norwood, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2008, following a fall in her home at 78 years of age.
She grew up in the Norwood Community and graduated from Norwood High School in the Class of 1947.
She was united in marriage to Darrell H. Sanders, a native of Mtn. Grove, Missouri. This union was blessed with five children. She was employed as a clerk for an area Ben Franklin Variety Store for several years.
She had lived in Springfield, Missouri and Florida for many years.
Bonnie was active in several churches over the years, including First Baptist Church in Norwood, Missouri, Glenstone Baptist Church and South Haven Baptist Church in Springfield, Missouri, and the Crossings Church in Tampa, Florida. She served as a Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher, a member of the Woman’s Missionary Union, a Girls In Action leader, and on various church committees.
When her children were younger, she was active in PTA organizations and attended many sporting, music, and drama events. Once she moved to Florida, she was a volunteer in the Hillsborough County School District, tutoring reading students.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Darrell H. Sanders Sr.; and by one son: Darrell H. Sanders Jr.
She is survived by two sons: Rob Sanders of Brandon, Florida and Brad Bunch of Springfield, Missouri; two daughters: Pat Sanders of Brandon, Florida, and Kathryn Kirksey of Bolivar, Missouri; seven grandchildren; two brothers: Don Raney of Norwood, Missouri and Floyd Raney of Mtn. Grove, Missouri; one sister: Shirl Lindsay of Springfield, Missouri; and a host of other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.

Saturday, May 24, 2008, 2:00 PM in the Hillcrest Cemetery under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mtn. Grove, Missouri.

Saturday, May 24, 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM in the funeral home.
