Bonnie J. Burdette

Bonnie Jean Burdette, daughter of the late Glen and Martha (Anderson) Miyler, was born on September 22, 1942 in Galesburg, Illinois, and departed this life on March 16, 2007 in the St. John’s Regional Health Center in Springfield, Missouri, following a short illness. She was 64 years, 5 months, and 22 days of age.
Bonnie grew up and attended school in Illinois and graduated from high school in Sandwich, Illinois in 1960.
She was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Burdette on May 14, 1971 in De Kalb, Illinois. Two children were born to this union. They made their home on Wall Road in Mtn. Grove for over eleven years.
Bonnie enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, and playing cards. She was a loving companion, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter: Sherrie Burdette; and by two grandchildren: Jamie and Kristi.
She is survived by her loving companion: Bob Burdette of their home; one son: Bryan Weeks of Springfield, Missouri; three daughters: Kay Staudler of Houston, Missouri, Kelly Wilson of Mtn. Grove, and Shawn Montgomery of Nashville, Tennessee; two step-sons: Randy Burdette of Frederick, Maryland and Robert Burdette Jr., of Ottawa, Illinois; one step-daughter: Sherel Kaltenecker of Sandwich, Illinois; one brother: Terry Miyler and his wife, Arlene of Galesburg, Illinois and their children, Amy and David; twelve grandchildren: Emory, Casi, Philip, Jessica, Ryan, Donnie, Trever, Tyler, Josh, Ashley, Tasha, and Haylie; best friends: Jerry and Arlynda; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Bonnie Burdette were held Tuesday, March 20, 10:00 AM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel with Rev. Bud Scherer officiating. Song selections were “Amazing Grace,” “Old Rugged Cross,” and “I Can Only Imagine.” Pallbearers were Paul Montgomery Jr., Johnny Wilson, Richard Welton, Reggie Walker, Robert Burdette Jr., and Jeff McGregor. Honorary pallbearers were Trevor Young, Tyler Young, and Joshua Young. Burial was in the Pleasant Home Cemetery under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mtn. Grove, Missouri.
