Bobby 'Bob' Ryan Chasteen

Bobby Ryan Chasteen, age 77, of Mountain Grove, passed away Sunday, December 27, 2009 after a courageous eighteen year battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was born December 24, 1932 in Mountain Grove, the son of Elvis and Bertha (Sutton) Chasteen. In 1959, he and Gloriabell Carter were united in marriage. The couple has one daughter, Teresa.
Mr. Chasteen was a 1950 graduate of Mountain Grove High School and in 1955, received a BS Degree in Agriculture from Missouri State University. He was a First Lieutenant at Fort Leonard Wood in the late fifties.
Bob retired from the Federal Land Bank Association in 1986. He was a lifelong member and elder of the First Christian Church of Mountain Grove.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Gloriabell; one daughter: Teresa Calhoun and her husband, Gary, of Nixa, Missouri; two brothers: Don Chasteen and his wife, Twajana, of Springfield and Ray Chasteen of Mountain Grove; two sisters: Maxine Anderson and her husband, Clyde, of Willow Springs, Missouri and Sue Leighton and her husband, Noble, of Mountain Grove; his mother-in-law: Amy Carter of Mountain Grove; two grandchildren: Brianne and Garrett Calhoun of Nixa, Missouri; a host of nieces and nephews; and many other relatives, friends, and church family who will miss him dearly.


Funeral Service:
Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 10:00 AM in the First Christian Church, Mountain Grove.
Visitation:
Tuesday, December 29, 2009 from 6:30 - 7:30 PM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel.
