Billy Joe Childers

Billy Joe Childers, son of the late Andrew Jackson Childers and Ruby (Summers) Pebworth, was born January 22, 1938 in Coalgate, Oklahoma, and departed this life September 14, 2019 at his home near Norwood, Missouri. He was 81 years, 7 months, and 23 days of age.

Bill graduated high school and joined the United States Marine Corps and honorably served his country. Bill was united in marriage to Cherie Church on October 22, 1957 in Tonopah, Nevada. Five children were born to this union.

Bill was a hobbyist who enjoyed collecting, restoring, and repairing various items. He was a good mechanic and heavy machinery operator. He also enjoyed being outdoors, especially when hunting. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Bill will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Besides his parents, Bill was preceded in death by one brother, Harvey Childers.

Survivors include his loving wife of nearly 62 years, Cherie Childers, three sons, Ricky Childers and family, Billy Joe Childers and family, and Brian Childers and family, and two daughters, Vicki Bleak and family and Sandy Childers and family.
