William Ray Daniels, 81, of Falcon, Missouri, son of the late William Phillip Daniels II and Cora Laverne (Bannister) Daniels, was born on December 2, 1942, in Festus, Missouri. He went to his heavenly home on January 17, 2024, at the Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. Bill was a kind and caring individual with a quick wit that endeared him to all who knew him.
Bill attended grade school in Pevely and Herculaneum, Missouri, before moving to California. After graduating high school in Long Beach, California, Bill served with honor in the United States Air Force at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska. During his service, he received several commendations including the Good Conduct Medal, Cold War Service Medal, and Vietnam Service Medal. Bill's dedication to serving his country extended beyond his active duty as he became a life member of VFW Post 3770 in Mountain Grove, Missouri and a member of American Legion Post 1000 in Jefferson City, Missouri.
After returning home from the military, Bill was united in marriage to Lois Smith on June 25, 1968. In the latter part of 1968, Bill began his career with PPG Glass Company in Crystal City, Missouri. He dedicated his time and skills to the company for over two decades before retiring in 1991. A diligent and hardworking employee, Bill made valuable contributions throughout his tenure. Following his retirement, he continued his educational journey by taking college courses and obtaining a bachelor's degree and he also completed a building trades course – both were accomplishments that he was incredibly proud of.
Family meant everything to Bill; they were the cornerstone of his life. Bill will forever be remembered for his kindness, caring nature, and quick wit. His legacy will live on through his loved ones and all those whose lives he touched during his time with us. May we find solace in the memories we shared with Bill as we bid farewell to a remarkable individual who has left an indelible mark on our hearts.
Besides his parents, Bill was preceded in death by step-son, Earl "Butch" Coplin, Jr.; and by three sisters, Denita Daniels, Joyce Watz, and Anna Hahn.
Bill is survived by his devoted wife, Lois Daniels; daughter, Billie Jo Daniels; two granddaughters, Jodee and Jolee Daniels (who brought tremendous joy to his life); one great-grandson, Jasper Givens; two brothers, Joseph White and Charles White; and many other relatives and friends who will miss him greatly.
