Beverly Anne Benson, daughter of the late Lyle and Margaret (Smith) Benson, was born December 1, 1953, in Detroit, Michigan, and departed this life June 16, 2024, at her home in Hartville, Missouri. She was 70 years, 6 months, and 15 days of age.
Beverly grew up and attended school in Detroit, Michigan. In 1971, she moved with her family to Missouri when she was 17 years old.
Beverly had one son, Anthony Benson. When Anthony was a child, she volunteered at the head start that he attended. She loved children, and also enjoyed babysitting over the years. Beverly also loved animals, especially cats. She would take in nearly any type of animal that needed a home.
Beverly’s hobbies included watching reality TV shows and game shows, working puzzles, and playing card games. She also enjoyed going on cave tours even though she was claustrophobic for many years. Beverly’s favorite pastime was listening to country music, especially Blake Shelton. She was a proud member of Blake’s fan club, attended many concerts over the years, and was even able to meet him on multiple occasions.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Margaret Benson, and two brothers, Lyle Benson and Larry Benson and his wife, Carol.
She is survived by her son, Tony Benson of Hartville, Missouri, two brothers, Ron Benson and his wife, Vickie, of Seymour, Missouri, and Tim Benson of Hartville, Missouri, two sisters, Marlene Sawyers and her husband, Roger, of Seymour, Missouri, and Kim Benson of Hartville, Missouri, her sister-in-law, Faye Benson of Buffalo, Missouri, and a host of nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces who will miss her.
