Betty J. Smith

Betty Jean Smith, daughter of Jean and Virginia (Wilson) Gruner, was born April 30, 1948, in St. Louis, Missouri, and passed away September 9, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 74 years, 4 months, and 10 days of age.

Betty became a stepmother when she married Melvin Morris Smith on April 10, 1976, in Mansfield, Missouri, and he preceded her in death July 8, 1986.

When Betty lived on her farm, she really enjoyed taking care of her goats. She also loved knitting scarves and doing puzzles. She was grandma to many grandkids and lots of people knew her as little Betty.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin and her parents.

Betty is survived by her many siblings, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She will be missed by her family and many friends that loved her.
