Bessie Marion “Shorty” Craig, daughter of the late Walter “Dump” Davault and Edith Norene (Smart) Pitcher, was born on May 20, 1945 in Mtn. Grove, Missouri and departed this life on June 2, 2012 at her home in Seymour, Missouri, following a long illness. She was 67 years and 13 days of age.
Bessie grew up in Mtn. Grove and had lived in the Mtn. Grove area most all her life.
She enjoyed being outdoors, especially when fishing. She also liked to cook for her family and friends and spend time with her children and grandchildren.
Bessie is preceded in death by her father: Dump Davault; two brothers: Charles Davault and Larry Davault; her son: William Dale Scott; a great-granddaughter: Aubrey Nicole Geiselman; and by a nephew: Chad Burke.
She is survived by her mother: Edith Norene Pitcher; two brothers: William “Billy” Davault and Ronnie Davault; four sisters: Karen Bradshaw, Sharon Dawson, Colleen Gilley and Kathy Himes; six daughters: Theresa Haines, Darlene “Shelly” Embury, Raytha Lynn “Twink” Craig, Bridget Craig, Gina Craig and Tina Craig; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

June 8th at 10:00 AM in
the Craig-Hurtt Chapel.
Visitation: Thursday,
June 7th from 6:00 – 7:00 PM
in the funeral home.
