Bennie Dobbs

Bennie Dobbs, son of the late Albert Newton and Mary Etta (Carder) Dobbs, was born August 26, 1934, in Manes, Missouri, and departed this life January 26, 2020, in Mountain Grove, Missouri. He was 85 years and 5 months of age.

Bennie grew up in the Manes community and attended the Perkins School. He was united in marriage to Joan Tate in 1955 and one daughter was born to this union. In 1960, Bennie was united in marriage to Betty Mings and one son was born to this union.

Bennie was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and gardening, specializing in growing tomatoes. He also enjoyed working on his dairy farm. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Besides his parents, Bennie was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Dobbs, one grandson, Nathan Beard, one brother, Albert Lee Dobbs, and four sisters, Laverne Prock, Esther Champ, Lois Davis, and Wilma Hancock.

Survivors include one son, Darren Dobbs of Mountain Grove, Missouri, one daughter, Joretta Beard of Mansfield, Missouri, one sister, Patsy Barnes of Cabool, Missouri, three grandchildren, Ryan Beard, Adam Owens, and Allen Dobbs, seven great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him greatly.

At the request of Mr. Dobbs, no services are planned. Cremation is under the direction of Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.
