Barbara "Bobbie" M. Blakely

Barbara “Bobbie” Maudie Blakely, daughter of the late Curtis and Melvinna (Inman) Wimberly, was born December 12, 1915, in Competition, Missouri, and departed this life January 16, 2018, in Springfield, Missouri. She was 102 years, 1 month, and 4 days of age.

Bobbie grew up in the Mountain Grove area. She married Howard Blakely on April 11, 1936, in Neosho, Missouri. Bobbie enjoyed being a full-time homemaker. She loved to garden, knit, crochet, and sew. She and Howard had a cabin on the river. They enjoyed fishing and camping together.

Bobbie’s church family was always important to her and she remained active in her church as long as her health permitted.

Bobbie moved to Springfield a few years ago to be close to her sisters, and lived there until her passing.

Besides her parents, Bobbie was preceded in death by her husband and her many brothers and sisters.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews who will greatly miss her.
