Barbara Jean (Barnett) Bandy passed away Saturday, August 19th at the age of 82 surrounded by her adoring family. She was the wife of Bobby “Bob” Ray Bandy. They were married on January 28, 1955, in the home of Owen and Edna Saladin in Norwood, MO. They shared 62 years of marriage together, and she was the light and love of his life.
She was born into a loving family on March 2, 1935, in Norwood, MO. She trusted in the Lord as her Savior and was baptized at a young age. She graduated from Norwood High School in 1953.
Barbara proved her dedication to hard work in each of the jobs she held. She spent 18 years working for Tri-County Gas, 10 years as Bob’s secretary and driving partner as he worked as an over-the-road trucker, and 10 years with Riverways Home Health where she enjoyed cooking for and taking care of her clients.
She showed her love for friends and family in all of her hobbies. As an avid scrapbooker, Barbara spent many hours preserving precious family memories that will be enjoyed for generations. She was a fantastic cook and enjoyed serving others by sharing her creations. Her kitchen often smelled of something delicious and freshly made. Barbara was a fantastic seamstress and quilter. She loved to be in her sewing room. Over the course of her life she created many items for her family that will be treasured.
Barbara was God’s gift to those who knew her. Her smile and laughter were contagious, and she brought joy to those around her. To be loved by her was a precious gift and a special feeling. Barbara shared the gift of life to everyone who met her. Though she is greatly missed, her beautiful legacy of working hard and loving deeply will live on in the lives of her loved ones.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Earl and Velma Agnes (Owens) Barnett, and her sisters, Eileen Dorris and Ruby McKinney.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Bobby “Bob” Ray Bandy; her children, Darell and Julie Bandy and David and Tamme Hutsell; her grandchildren, Shawn and Jennifer (Hutsell) Barry, Zach and Victoria Hutsell, and Jared and Chelsey Hutsell; her great-grandchildren, Lauren Barry, Easton Barry, Wyatt Barry, and Hailey Hutsell; two siblings, Jack and Bonita Barnett and Earline and Joe Coday; brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Louise Bandy, along with many nieces and nephews and friends who felt like family.
