Arles Orrin Rumfelt

Arles Orrin Rumfelt, son of the late Orrin and Trula (Wirtmiller) Rumfelt, was born August 5, 1951 in Plato, Missouri, and departed this life suddenly on June 23, 2017 at his farm in Norwood, Missouri. He was 65 years, 10 months, and 18 days of age.

Arles grew up in Plato and graduated from Plato High School in 1970. He married Della Tate on March 2, 1974 in Huggins, Missouri. Three children were born to this union: Daniel, Karla, and Arlena. After he married, he didn’t think of the Tate family as in-laws, but his own family.

Arles worked as a concrete finisher. He was a very talented and hard worker. He could do plumbing, electrical wiring, mechanical work, pour cement, and even cook. His talents and abilities are too many to name. He would help people that he didn’t even know and never expect anything in return. After retirement, he worked on his beef farm and enjoyed helping family and friends put up hay. He loved hunting, fishing, music, and gardening. He enjoyed sitting under the porch and watching the wild life. Arles enjoyed working hard and took pride in a job well done.

He had given his life to the Lord and was baptized in 1978 at Boone Creek Baptist Church in Licking, Missouri. Arles was a quiet worshipper and would often say things like: “I had a good talk with God about…”, or “I think God had a hand in that”, or “I prayed to God and we got it worked out”.

Arles loved spending time with others and looked forward to visiting with his family, neighbors, and friends. He loved it when people would drop by the house and share a cup of coffee with him. He enjoyed eating and never turned down food. He was really happy in his final days. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Besides his parents, Arles was preceded in death by one brother, Jim Rumfelt, and by an infant sister, Ruth Rumfelt.

He is survived by his loving wife of their home, Della, one son, Daniel Rumfelt and his wife, Tiffany, of Grovespring, Missouri, two daughters, Karla Hosiner and her husband, Bobby, of West Plains, Missouri, and Arlena Rumfelt of Mountain Grove, Missouri, four sisters, Trula McGuire of Huggins, Missouri, Audrey Barnhart of Houston, Missouri, Shirley Seabaugh of St. Louis, Missouri, and Leta Freeman of Mountain Grove, Missouri, ten grandchildren, Kasen, Kori, Kristen, Tyler, Tabor, Kyerria, Devin, Preston, Alayna, and Austin, and many other relatives and friends.
