Anna L. Reeves

June 14, 1944 — March 24, 2007

Anna Lou Reeves, daughter of the late Sherman and Marie (Bridges) Woodard, was born on June 14, 1944 in Hanford, California, and departed this life on March 24, 2007 in the Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston, Missouri, following an extended illness. She was 62 years, 9 months, and 10 days of age.
Anna grew up and attended school in Hanford and graduated from Hanford High School. She was united in marriage to Ben Reeves on January 26, 1963 in Hanford, California. Three children were born to this union. They lived in several states and countries, including Guam, because of Ben’s job in the United States Navy and Anna was also employed by the Navy as a civil servant for thirty-three years. She retired in 1992.
Anna was a people person and enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, but her passion in life was fishing. She had a wonderful smile and will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Anna and Ben had made their home in the Mtn. Grove Community for the past three years and she was a member of the Union Grove Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son: one sister and her husband: Alta Fern and Delmas Beesley; and by twin sisters who died in infancy.
She is survived by her loving husband: Ben Reeves of their home; her son: James Marvin Reeves of Hanford, California; her daughter: Karen Marie Tungett of Hanford, California; two brothers: Herschel Woodard of Gardnerville, Nevada, and Sherman Woodard Jr., of Springville, California; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 29, 5:00 – 7:00 PM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel and burial will be at a later date in the Grangeville Cemetery in Armona, California. Arrangements are under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mtn. Grove, Missouri.
