June 15, 1943 — September 24, 2024

Mountain Grove

Anna Mae (Sigman) Hutson, daughter of the late Ethel Mae (Altis) Sigman and Lawrence DewittSigman, was born June 15, 1943, in Williamsburg, Virginia. She was one of seven children. Anna departed this life on September 24, 2024, in Springfield, Missouri, surrounded by her family. She was 81 years, 3 months, and 9 days of age.

Anna’s family moved from Virginia to Elk Creek, Missouri, in 1943, after she was born. Anna was united in marriage to LeRoy Hutson on November 25, 1959, in Mountain Grove, Missouri, and eight children were born to this union.

Anna worked as a waitress, cook, production worker, and cake decorator. However, her true love was quilting. No matter how she felt, she would make time to work on her quilts. Her love for her grandchildren was undeniable. She would just mention something, and they would immediately make sure she had it. She loved giving them orders.

Her love for her garden and flowers gave her much pleasure. The grandkids stepped up to the plate and took over making sure those things were cared for when she could no longer do it herself, especially the bird feeders. Those who always took care of these things for her, you know who you are, did so the minute they arrived at her home. There was also the time she asked for the white picket fence to be replaced and told them what she wanted, then the plan was immediately put into action. She supervised and they built it. No amount of money could have brought the true happiness she got from her family. She knew how much they loved her, and they knew how much she loved them.

In 1983, she was saved and baptized. No matter how she felt, she wanted to be in church and found great pleasure in making food for the church dinners.

For the past two years, a highlight in her life was playing Bingo at the senior center with her brothers, sisters, nephew, cousin, and kids. Her spot at the senior center will never be the same, and we are so thankful for the great memories. As her health failed, the family had to surprise her by showing up unexpectedly and bringing meals. If she knew they were coming, she would try to fix a full-course meal. Her rolls and desserts were priceless.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; one son, David Lee Hutson; one granddaughter, Miranda Deaton; two brothers, Jim and Raymond Sigman; two brothers-in-law, Harold Hoar and Dean; two sisters-in-law, Betty Sigman and Gertie Sigman. .

Anna Mae is survived by two sons, Ronnie Hutson, Larry Hutson; five daughters, Diana Good and husband, Michael, Barbara Litty, Gloria Romines and husband, Roger, Debbie Carter and husband, Ronnie, and Teresa James; five siblings, Mable Hoar, Elmer Sigman, Virginia Stogsdill, Clara Sheets and husband, JW, and Delmar Sigman and wife Teresa; 27 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends who will truly miss her.
