Ann Raney

April 14, 1938 — February 21, 2023

Marilyn Ann “Annie” (Peterson) Raney, daughter of the late Carl Ragnor and Emma Matilda (Couper) Peterson, was born April 14, 1938, in Mansfield, Missouri, and passed away February 21, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. She was 84 years, 10 months, and 7 days of age.


Ann grew up in Mansfield and attended school there. She married Jackie Lee Bradshaw on August 8, 1955, at Norwood, Missouri. Two sons were born to this union. Jackie passed away January 26, 1993. Ann married Ernest L. Raney on April 15, 2000, at Norwood, Missouri. Ann and Ernie enjoyed going dancing on Friday nights as long as their health permitted.


Ann was a member of Norwood Assembly of God church where she served as song leader for many years. She also sang in the church choir. Ann loved people, especially babies. She would go out of her way to help anyone in need. She loved her cats and she was a collector of Angels and crosses.


Besides her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her first husband, Jackie Lee Bradshaw, one son, Terry Lee Bradshaw, four brothers, Bob Peterson, Harry Peterson, Paul Peterson, and Bud Peterson, and three sisters, Mae Emory, Virginia Lowe, and Mable Peterson.


She is survived by her husband, Ernie Raney of the home in Norwood, one son, Greg Bradshaw and wife, Jeanee, of Mansfield, Missouri, two step-sons, James Bradshaw of Pomona, Missouri, and Alvin Raney of Gainesville, Missouri, two step-daughters, Myra Raney of Bastrop, Louisiana, and Sharon Beresford and husband, Robert, of Ottawa, Kansas, four grandchildren, Kaleen Bradshaw, Taylor Bradshaw, Travis Bradshaw, and Jeremy Bradshaw, one brother, Bill Peterson, and other relatives and friends who will miss her very much.
