Alvin Frank Brown

February 7, 1936 — June 10, 2023

Alvin Frank Brown, eldest of eight children, was born to Willard Brown and Louetta (Price) Brown on February 7, 1936, in Decatur, Missouri, and departed this life June 10, 2023, at his home near Seymour, Missouri, at the age of 87 years, 4 months, and 3 days.

Al was united in marriage to Linda (Coffer) Johnson on July 30, 1998, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Robin Brown, grandson, Xander Brown, and brothers, James, Leroy, and Ellis Brown.

Al is survived by his wife of nearly 25 years, Linda, of the home; six sons, Steve (Malia) Brown of Independence, Missouri, Alyn (Angie) Brown and Tim (Renada) Brown, all of Lexington, Missouri, Donny Brown of Springfield, Missouri, Philip (Darla) Brown of Nixa, Missouri, and Danny Brown of Springfield, Missouri; chosen kids, Kim Porter of Lexington, Missouri, and Jason Buttera of Springfield, Missouri; Linda’s girls, Lisa (Scott) Price of Sarcoxie, Missouri, and Sheila (Fred) Massie of Aurora, Missouri; sister, Darlene Strickland of Eldon, Missouri; three brothers, Densle Brown of Kansas City, Missouri, Gary Brown of Eldon, Missouri, and Larry Brown of Eldon, Missouri; brother-in-law, Gary (Jaunita) Coffer of California; 26 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends, Mike and Sandy George.

Al always loved his time on the farm with his cows, and Max and Missy his 4-legged kids, as well as his morning coffee at Rusty Spurs with all his friends.

He and Linda moved to Seymour in June of 1999, where he ran an appliance repair business, but his greatest passion was playing his drums with his band “The Country Four.” He and the band played all over the area from St. Louis to Branson, playing with great performers like Speedy Hallworth, and once with Porter Waggoner, as well as playing at the Seymour Apple Festival.

Al was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and a caring neighbor and friend. We had many special times together that we will always cherish.
