Allen Dodds, Jr., son of Allen Dodds Sr. and Elsie Alice (Spruill) Dodds, was born on July 31, 1944 near Phoebe, Mississippi, and departed this life on June 18, 2010 at his home in Norwood, Missouri, following a short illness at the age of 65 years, 10 months and 13 days of age.
On June 25, 1969, he was united in marriage to Patsy Ruth, and three sons were born to this union. Later in life, on May 14, 2006, he was united in marriage to a second wife, Helen (Susie Gray) Dodds and he added four daughters and another son to his family.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Preston Dodds; and by a grandchild: Nicholas Morgan Dodds.
He is survived by his loving wife: Helen Dodds, of their home; four sons; John Richards Dodds and his significant other, Connie Baker, of Mtn. Grove, Douglas Allen Dodds and his wife, Sara of Mtn. Grove, Steven Moreland Dodds and his wife, Cindy, of Mtn. Grove, and John Michael Gray of Springfield, Missouri; four daughters: Carolyn Jones Lineberger and her husband, Heath, of Granite Falls, North Carolina, Amy Marie Norwood and her husband, Al, of Norwood, Missouri, Jenny Lynn Gray of Norwood, Missouri, Suntina Heard, and her significant other, Shon Bates of Norwood, Missouri; twenty-one grandchildren: Robbie, Shawn “Rick”, Dylann, MiaKayla, Scott “Scooter”, Joseph, Alex, Nick, Austin, Alyssa, Ariana “Nonna”, Dustin, Jeffrey, Ashiley, Tamela, Ashley-Dawn, Melanie, Jessica, Alexis, Charity “Chatterbox”, and Kevin; one great-grandchild: Kaiydence; three brothers: Herman, Douglas, and William; two sisters: Martha and Alice; his ex-wife: Patsy Ruth; his brothers-in-law: sisters-in-law: many nieces; nephews; as well as several other relatives and friends. His life was fit for Cabool Transport, as he drove 18 wheelers since 1964 for the military and in his civilian life. He served his country in the United States Army from November 1963 to November 1973. He served in Vietnam in November of 1970. He was well known in the community as a bingo player and he loved to sit at the Sunny Side Café and drink coffee and socialize with his many friends and relatives. He will be missed by all.

Wednesday, June 23rd, 10:00 AM in the Corinth Baptist Church, Macomb, Missouri.
Visitation:
Tuesday, June 22nd, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
Burial:
Liberty Cemetery, North of Seymour, Missouri on (C Hwy. approx. 7 to 8 Miles) in Webster County with full military honors.
