Agnes Rogers

September 29, 1916 — February 13, 2007

Agnes Rogers, daughter of the late Calvin Anthony and Lucinda Jane (Crisp) Baty, was born on September 29, 1916 in Wright County, Missouri in the Evening Shade Community, and departed this life on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 in the Hartville Care Center in Hartville, Missouri, following a long illness. She was 90 years, 4 months, and 14 days of age.
Agnes was raised in the Bendavis Community and attended the Alice School. She was united in marriage to Claud Rogers on August 11, 1939 in Houston, Missouri. Six children were born to this union. They raised their family on a farm in the Manes Community. Mr. Rogers passed away on February 25, 1975.
Agnes enjoyed being outdoors, especially when tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. She also liked taking care of her family, sewing, reading, and spending time visiting with her family and friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one son: Joe Rogers; one daughter: Barbara A. Baty; three brothers, Leonard Baty, Lyle Baty, and Leroy Baty; and by two grandsons: Mark Willhite and John Rogers.
Survivors include three sons: Donald Rogers of Devils Elbow, Missouri, Ralph Rogers and his wife Jane of Mtn. Grove, Missouri, and Lonnie Rogers and his wife, Bonnie of Mtn. Grove, Missouri; one daughter: Juanita Willhite of Roby, Missouri; a daughter-in-law: Lenda Rogers of Mtn. Grove, Missouri; one sister: Gladys Wade of Mtn. Grove, Missouri; nineteen grandchildren; forty-five great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Agnes Rogers were held Friday, February 16, 2:00 PM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel with Rev. John Bray officiating. Norma Willhite and Carol Robertson sang “Far Side Banks Of Jordan,” “Where The Roses Never Fade,” “How Beautiful Heaven Must Be.” Pallbearers were Frances Kirk, Todd Jones, Jim Perkins, Eric Skaggs, Leo Dowden, Kyle Moseley, Mike Wade, and Scott Martin. Burial was in the Green Mountain Cemetery under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mtn. Grove, MO.
