Jimmie George Cheatham

Jimmie George Cheatham, son of the late George Newton and Glenna (Troutt) Cheatham, was born on March 25, 1942 in Knoxville, Tennessee, and passed away on January 13, 2011 in the St. John’s Regional Health Center in Springfield, Missouri, at 68 years of age.
Jimmie grew up and attended school in Knoxville and was united in marriage to Jean (Keith) Richards on January 15, 1968 in Fort Worth, Texas. Together they raised three children.
Jimmie was employed as an automatic transmission specialist, owning his own shop in Forth Worth for several years. He enjoyed tinkering with electronics and going to flea markets.
He was a caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and visiting with his many friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Michael Cheatham; and by a sister: Jo Ann Williams.
He is survived by his wife of forty-three years: Jean Cheatham of their home in Mtn. Grove; one son: Jody Richards of Springfield, Missouri; one daughter: Dana Calkins and her husband, James, of Macomb, Missouri; one sister: Brenda Cloninger of Knoxville, Tennessee; one brother-in-law: Herbert Keith; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives, neighbors and friends who will sadly miss him.
