Champ C. Prock

February 27, 1932 — March 5, 2007

Champ Clark Prock, Sr., son of Marion and Minta (Willard) Prock, was born on February 27, 1932 in Manes, Missouri, and departed this life on March 5, 2007 in the St. John’s Regional Health Center in Springfield, Missouri, following a long illness. He was 75 years and 6 days of age.
Champ grew up in the Manes Community and graduated from Mtn. Grove High school in 1950. Following graduation, he served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged on December 31, 1953. He worked in road construction for a few years and later became a carpenter. Following his retirement, he moved back to the Manes area and was united in marriage to Helen Pollard in 1971.
Champ enjoyed being outdoors, especially when hunting and fishing. He also liked visiting with his family, neighbors, and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Helen Prock in 1990. He is survived by two sons: Champ Clark Prock, Jr., and his wife, Wanda, of Mtn. Grove, Missouri, and Mark Moore of Kansas City, Missouri; two daughters: Kimberly Ann Prock of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, and Lori Olaskowitz and her husband, Jeff, of Kansas City, Missouri; one brother, Smith Prock of the State of Washington; two sisters: Lottie Faulkner of the State of Utah and Vivian Cantrell of the State of Idaho; nieces; nephews; cousins; and a host of relatives; neighbors; friends who will miss him very much.
Funeral services for Champ C. Prock Sr., were held Thursday, March 8, 10:00 AM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel with Rev. Jerry Ratterree officiating. Song selections were “Known Only To Him,” “How Great Thou Art,” and “Go Rest High On That Mountain.” Pallbearers were Mark Moore, Jeff Olaskowitz, Champ C. Prock Jr., Larry Prock, Eldon Prock, and Darrell Barnes. Full military honors were provided at the cemetery by the American Legion Post 30 with Jared Moore bugler. Burial was in the Manes Cemetery under the directions of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mtn. Grove, MO.
