Alma Jean Littrell, daughter of the late George Washington and Ada (Long) Thornhill, was born March 16, 1928, in Mountain Grove, Missouri, and passed away June 9, 2020, at Autumn Oaks Caring Center in Mountain Grove. She was 92 years, 2 months, and 24 days of age.
Jean grew up in Mountain Grove and graduated from Mountain Grove High School. She married Arthur Ralph Littrell on December 29, 1948, in Mexico, Missouri. Two children were born to this union: George Kenny and Carol. She and Ralph lived in several places throughout the United States because of his career.
Jean worked as an in-home caregiver for Missouri Home Health and later became a supervisor. She attended First Baptist Church in Mountain Grove as long as her health permitted. In later years, Jean enjoyed traveling with her sisters. She also enjoyed making beautiful quilts.
Besides her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband on December 16, 1984, two brothers, Lee and Frankie Thornhill, three sisters, Pauline Allen, Glenda Cooper, and Donna Fletcher, four brothers-in-law, Earl Atchison, Pritchard Peterson, Norman Allen, and Charlie Cooper, and one sister-in-law, Beatrice Thornhill.
She is survived by one son, George Kenny Littrell of Mountain Grove, Missouri, one daughter, Carol Charlesworth of Saratoga Springs, Utah, two sisters, Dorine Peterson and Nola Faye Atchison both of Mountain Grove, Missouri, one brother-in-law, Darrell Fletcher, one sister-in-law, Laura Thornhill, three grandchildren, Erin, Dana, and Allison, four great-grandchildren, Rushelle, Cory, Luke, and Hailey, two great-great-grandchildren, Steven and Miles, and other relatives and friends who will dearly miss her.
